What did you do in the garden today?

Pardon me but I seem to be rather green with envy!

I am on a city plot. Not even half an acre. :hit

Today my old bones said pulling more bind weed was not going to happen.
I went and got the weed eater out. Last year I got a small battery powered weed eater. Not good for heavy stemmed weeds but did a nice job on surgical removal of bind weed near flowers.
Our battery one is only good for fresh growth. Once it gets too thick.. Forget it.. So I know what you mean lol

Yes weak but handy as I can step into the beds with it and no cord or gasoline.

It is quiet too. My neighbor works nights as a nurse. No need to wreck her sleep....never know when I may need her skills.
;)

Bless you @21hens-incharge ! I worked nights for years. It's so sweet of you to think of her like that.

Today in the garden I harvested toms and cukes. Made bread and butter pickles and spicy b&b pickles, laid out the henhouse foundation and built the floor structure, put additional wire on top of the brooder since I found a chick perched on top of what I had laid across it a couple of days ago , started the shopping list for next trips to hardware and farm stores. Ok, much if that was not in the garden, but it rained again last night and it's humid and sticky and icky and the mosquitoes love me long time! I should buy stock in Benadryl.

today in the garden,
I rototilled the three 190 feet long rows. Potatoes, tomatoes and beans.
then I weeded the tomatoes and hilled all of them..
got out the water hose and watered all three rows real good.
got half ate up by horseflies.
the potatoes are too tall to hill them for the second time. My tractor hangs too close to the ground..
no matter, I already have them hilled real good..

hatched out 4 ducklings today..

the ten puppies are learning how to walk . in a day or two they should have that down pat ..
they are LGD Maremma, like my avatar ..
........jiminwisc.....

I am also a survivor of working night shift. Did it for 4 months. Was sick the entire time. Simply never did get the hang of sleeping during the day time.
Oh, i really did great on it! My Dad took me to work with him on third shift when i was growing up so i am a night owl. Never got sleepy at all. But my kids didn't like it.
