What did you do in the garden today?

My mom alwYs said I was a night owl. I worked mostly nights for much of my nursing career of 30 something years. The time I spent working days was much harder for me. Seems like I just don't have the energy days as I do nights. I still sleep better during my daytime naps than I do at night. But I have learned to just shut off and sleep whenever, wherever I need to. I know, I'm weird.

The Shepherd and i went on an adventure today. I saw a pair of dog runs advertised on Craigslist, and decided i need them for the guineas that are coming and maybe some chickens. I set off, and in less than 2 hours i was there and had them loaded. Somehow, my GPS told me the wrong directions and i ended up lost with my phone down to 10% battery! I am new to the area, no map... so i got a map at the visitor center and a phone charger at Target. By the way, the Shepherd managed to throw up all over the front seat. She never did that before. Anyway, i did make it home in the rain which has broken our drought. Have not had rain since i planted the grass seed and it is about 3 inches high. So i never did a thing in my garden, but what the heck i have runs for birds!

Busy, busy there picked up 10 ameracauna yesterday won a bid for 18 more but fertile eggs

When I was a kid just out of high school I thought I'd be a trucker. I belonged to a bicycle club and one of the riders owned his trucking company. He took me on a night ride I could not stay awake to save me. Guess I failed my first job interview.

Busy, busy there picked up 10 ameracauna yesterday won a bid for 18 more but fertile eggs

I've been thinking of getting some green egg layers. Mine are all but extinct in my bunch. People really like the green ones

I have 8 of those right now but cockerel are not old enough for fertile eggs

I always dread the season because people always hurt themselves or others setting off fireworks, and the animals hate it. But guess what? I did not see or hear any at all today. I am not sure if that is because it was raining or because we are in the middle of nowhere here. Either way, i will take it.

mine do not like them either three big two little the little do better than the big ones
I have 10 6 week old chicks thinking the sky is falling only 7 eggs from 20 hens

Well we made it. Either that was the last one or the dogs and I slept though it. Our dread here is fire.

Ok, you saw my other post of the old picture of the garden and here is the update. You can tell there are twice as many beds, the garden is fenced, and the black brooder is in there if you look hard. Lots more green, though i still have to dig up and amend the bed on the left. And then plant more seeds
