What did you do in the garden today?

In a normal year, mine would always be out until November, but the garden has been done and cleared out for 3 weeks already. We are in a lull due to extraordinary drought conditions. Even the apple harvest was small and thin.
I never thought I'd be in drought condition in Washington state, but it's severe drought where I'm living. If you want to see your local drought conditions, just change the state and county in the following url.

Thanks. But I'm a met. In fact I just submitted this week's drought report.

Aurora are out.

Yeah... Mine rarely get put all the way away until I'm done for the Fall unless we are expecting company or something. I'll tidy up, but if you come to my house the canner will be sitting on the back of the stove, on the counter-top or in the corner.
Mine is sitting on the floor under the table. :lau

Hubby is building a pantry under the stairs down to the basement. We've talked about how useful that would be for... 28 years, almost as long as we've lived here. The canners will live under the stairs in the near future.

Most of my money today went on Quail drinkers but managed to find Fish Hydrolysate locally without trekking over an hour to get it from another store. They had some purple mustard green seeds so I couldn't help myself. Love anything purple. I'm trying to source some bulk veggie mix/mulch and have it delivered so I can finally get some of these seedlings out. The big bed has a little bit of activity in the corner consisting of a crop of borage that actually came from a garden bed a few meters over. Not sure on the type of tomato. I actually went to a garden center and found that they had a white borage. Does make me wonder what color of flower would be most attractive to the bees.
