I winter sowed a packet of purple coneflower this year. Only got 2 plants. One grew and flowered which surprised me. The other one grew slow and should flower next year. I should have plenty of seed from the one. Got to love free seed.

Those are pretty much self seeding, aren't they?I winter sowed a packet of purple coneflower this year. Only got 2 plants. One grew and flowered which surprised me. The other one grew slow and should flower next year. I should have plenty of seed from the one. Got to love free seed.
Yes but I had none. Same for the brown eyed Susans. I had none at the cabin. Those are pretty much self seeding, aren't they?
Who knows! Have fun letting your imagination run wild tho!Does anyone have any idea as to about what era this lock is from? My husband found it on our property after taking down an old shed.

Thank you very much! I hadn't seen any of these things; they are very helpful. I found one website that said removing the lowest leaves as they turn yellow will help tighten up the sprouts (maybe it was also remove the lower leaves as the sprouts are harvested - I need to read it again)Yep, ...Brussels sprouts...
Thank you for replying! That is what I thought, but I was seeking clarification in case there really was a problem with canned meats. I was really hoping that they were okay to eat! It’s not the canning process, unless something added is high in purine. The goal is to avoid foods high in purine, which impacts uric acid in the blood. My dad had gout. He still had a beer once in a while, ate steak and canned chicken and spam without issue. The key is to limit those things and drink lots of water. Lots of water to flush your system and keep your kidneys working well.
