What did you do in the garden today?

OMG! They probably would have needed more chickens than that for eggs! That's a good excuse. My husband has been working to get the fence up where the coop will go and the rabbit hutches will go. The problem is, he is thinking too small. I wonder if Noah had to start over on the ark once his wife saw it.

Yeah, but each rooster really needs more than one poor hen. Any way, i did some clean up of branches in the new chicken area. Tried to light the burn pile twice, but even the paper is wet. So i will work on it after lunch. Pulled up a lot of Virginia creeper. Wore gloves and washed my arms when i came in for lunch, but i will probably get another rash any way.

Ok, two of each animal. So . . .
2 Silver Laced Wyandottes
2 Gold Laced Wyandottes
2 Buff Wyandottes

See where I'm going here?
:yesss:

Just came in from watering the flowers and veggies. My sunflowers along the fence on one side are coming up i think. The carrots in with the cukes are up as well. I really need to get the few plants i have in pots planted, they are suffering and the next couple days are going to be hot!
That was fast. I haven't looked yet as I'm just trying to keep things from wilting. 106 today so much for the cooling trend.
I did check the pond. Gold fish from friend are multiplying.
Caught some grasshoppers on my tomatoes and fed to the 2 week old chicks. I figured the larger grasshopper would be torn apart and eaten that way. Nope the larger chick grabbed that thing and swallowed it whole. It was probably 2" long. They really love the live meal worms I've been giving them.

Hi.
Sounds like everyone has some wonderful gardens going.

I am still picking a few squash, eggplant, cuc's every few days.
I watched my garden go with all the rain we had last month then the stink bugs got into my netting I put around the last of my tomatoes. So what the rain did not ruin the bugs did. We must have fed 50 or more tomatoes to the cows.
I ordered a couple new varieties of tomato seeds Mt. Pride a 6 oz meaty tomato and some Mt. Merit that is a 10-11 oz meaty tomato that is a late season and blight resistant tomato. Both are organic from the Amish store Berlin Seed Company in Ohio. I am going to plant a couple of each of them in a few days. I will pick most of them green for fried green tomatoes.

Exact opposite problem here. Rains long gone and humidity this afternoon is 10%

Have you seen hens eat whole mice and toads? It is amazing!
