What did you do in the garden today?

@CapricornFarm I am so sorry about your truck, but sooo very relieved everyone is safe and unhurt! I'd share chicks with you too!
Thanks, everyone here is so nice! I am thinking maybe i can go to the next swap in two weeks and buy 2 week old chicks.

It has been relatively high humidity with dew on the ground every morning. I think the humidity will become drier as the summer temps begin to climb. We had 3.5 inches of rain last week and none since. July and August into early September are usually dry and hot.
Rained all day here again.. Sunny Florida. Steamy now
Cut some of our cat nip out of the planter today. Drove spikey crazy. He started going nuts in a box from a fan we just bought.

Lol! Fresh cat nip!

i just went out and picked 2 cherry tomatoes! First homegrown in about 10 years! The sweet potatoes are trying to escape their beds and one of the tomato plants was trying to push up on its cage

I love sweet potatoes. Any way you can make them is great, but I'm most partial to shoestring fries and baked topped with butter, fresh ground black pepper, sour cream, and a light drizzle of sriracha. mmmMmmmMm! I've got sprouted ones I've been toying with the idea of planting. Never grown them before. Funny that I never thought to.

We grew sweet potatoes in TN and i am telling you, they grew to be like footballs! It is really heavy soil here but i added manure. Next year i will be adding more sand. I really don't have much of anything planted but i did start late. My husband loves potatoes of any sort, in fact that is the one thing he planted a few of. I love those Yukon gold potatoes. Hoping my peas do not bake in the heat, my all time favorite raw veggie.

I gave a dozen tomatoes to a couple that buy eggs once a week from us today from the kindness of my heart. No sevin, no miracle grow, just natural picture perfect fruit. They tipped me $5.00 for $5.00 for the eggs. Keep the 10 bucks for the kind gesture they said. My heart melted even though I have a big basket of tomatoes left that we can't consume fast enough.
Gives me pleasure and faith in humanity. A good deed turns Two!

Our sugar snap peas got 86ed with rain fall but gold taters and sweet taters are mounded. Rain! No worries! Cukes, squash, toms etc all yellowish death.
Everything on pots are now on skate wheels. I move them out of harms way. What a chore but worth it. No regrets. I will prevail!!! Curse you mother nature!! Hehe:bow:yesss::bun
