What did you do in the garden today?

It's been kinda a lazy day. 84 degrees outside so I don't feel like doing much... I did get the tomato bed finished! Broke one of my Skyway stems trying to get the dang thing out of the netpot without tearing it up too much. Buried the broken piece deep in the dirt so hopefully it will heal itself and/or just root from there. No more netpots for seedlings! I did not care for the outcome of that experiment!

I seeded some nasturtium and calendula amongst the tomatoes... Waiting for the sun to go down some before we till the area behind the tomato bed. I'll be putting in corn, green beans, Sunflowers, and maybe some peanuts.

Afternoon all.
Made it to 87' today. Too early, but not weird, for it to be this warm this early. It's a dry heat. Fires popping up everywhere. People burning scrub piles and fields, but shouldn't be.
I had the brilliant idea this morning to take the horizontal boards between the old and new run out as they aren't structural.
When I took them out, this is where I realized the vertical posts weren't cemented in, just the corner posts. This left the vertical posts with no real support near digging chicken feet.
So off to town for concrete, to come home to underdig the posts and set footers. I didn't get enough concrete, but I left the molds and set rebar so topping off the molds has something to grip. They don't really NEED support, but I'll feel better with them there.
OC while I was in town I HAD to pick up a dogwood tree, and 8-quart sized herbs for the herb garden. LOL HAD TO.
So I worked outside in all this gross heat and came in and took my first, straight from the well cold shower. It was fabulous.
89-91 tomorrow

I got an idea after watching this diatomaceous earth liquid spray video. I used milk, water and diatomaceous earth to add a fungicide benefit. I also plan on using Spinosad powder the same way.
DE is not effective when wet, so I don’t understand how that works?

Interesting... I always thought that getting DE wet would render it useless.... I used to apply mine with a cheap feather duster.
