What did you do in the garden today?

A bit of a rant. I find it increasingly difficult to find a pork sausage that is not loaded with hot pepper. Always plenty of medium and hot. The original and mild are always sold out. I cannot eat hot spicey foods. I have fissures in my tongue that makes me feel the burn more than most people. The fact that what I want is always sold out tells me I am not the only one that likes original.
Could you ask your local butcher to make you some to your liking?

Wow, I've seen garden centers selling Trumpet Vine & the other invasive purple flowered vine, can't think of the name. Yeah, then of course they were selling Bishop's Weed...& me not knowing any year better in my early 20s bought some. Well, it's a ground cover & I used it for an odd spot at my old house, which did well & stayed right where I planted it. But now, I seem to have brought some with me by accident when I moved here...it Likes it here, a lot! It's spreading!

Aha, that purple vine is Wisteria.
(Yah, wisteria, listeria, drive me to hysteria 😆 )

at my old place I had bought 2 trumpet vines, 1 with small flowers and another one with the big ones. I always struggled in summer to water it enough to survive. it was good by the fence for privacy.

I love my wisteria... It IS very invasive though. Pops up everywhere in the yard but I don't mind because DH simply mows it down every week in the normal process of mowing the yard. 😉

you must be teasing me. I still cannot plant wisteria as I have to finish my house first then decorate the garden. in my situation I need to put irrigation lines first if I want to have anything green. I simply cannot run with buckets (1 and 1/2 acre) in summer heat.

My EWO... I planted them a couple years ago & thought they all died last year, but this showed up this spring! They are huge!
So are mine!
I have SO MANY EWO. They've completely taken over a 4'x4' area of a bed and continue trying to spread to the other half of the bed.
I gave mine a bed of their own. I "keep them in check" by digging out a clump when I need onions.

Our winters are enough to keep them from being a problem. I'm actually trying to get a couple started, as the honeybees like them, and they bloom later in the summer when there are fewer flowers.

My Roma’s needed more calcium so I got to crushing! It’s raining but put on poncho and went out anyway to treat tomatoes and check on chickens.
I had to switch to bigger basket and I just know I missed a cucumber!
We have a golden comet who can fly up and through the electric fence! I keep trying to fatten the. As quickly as possible but there’s that one 😂!

I know glads have an up and down, but what determines which way they will blooom, facing? 🤔 I only like this bc when in garden I can enjoy them too

We add gypsum to the soil for calcium. We’ve added extra oyster shell too, but that takes awhile and the right pH to be available.
