What did you do in the garden today?

I love my wisteria... It IS very invasive though. Pops up everywhere in the yard but I don't mind because DH simply mows it down every week in the normal process of mowing the yard. 😉
The place I got the Bishop's Weed...also sold Wisteria. Yup, I bought some. Built an arbor just for that plant. It was gorgeous!

You wrap tree trunks with vet wrap? 🤔🤔🤔
I used pool noodles, cut a slit all down it to slip it on & allow for growth. I did that because the deer were rubbing bark off my young apple trees. I never thought of using vet wrap, but then won't that have to be re-wrapped every so often, so it won't constrict growth?

I wish it bloomed for longer than a week though... That's my only complaint
Ditto that with Peonies.
Mine were looking great til thunderstorms flattened them last night. 😔 Peony petals blown all over now. If any ants were still hanging on those petals, man they sure got a wild ride!

Vet wrap...so tell me what other uses you all find for this stuff.

I know duct tape has many unconventional uses, I use my old feed bags for trash & close them shut at the top with a bit of duct tape on a regular basis.

I love vet wrap for correcting a chick's splay leg, comfortably holding a bandage on a wound to keep it clean while healing like bumblefoot, covering a broken Rooster spur a few days so he doesn't bop it and get blood all over the place while it heals, even helped keep a young Rooster's leg splint on properly as he healed from a broken leg while suspended in a healing hammock.

Some people use it on bucket handles or old wooden handles of things, to prevent splinters or just get a better grip.

Ideas???

I had NO idea they made stainless steel hoses! I use the shrinky dink ones because it hurts my back to roll them up, but they only last a few years. I may have to get a ss one next time.
The only SS hoses I see are for dishwashers, refrigerator water lines or washing machines, it is braided. I didn't know they made super long ones.

Holy cow, here it is, never knew til now...wow, it does Not cost more than the Zero Hose does! I paid 50 bucks each for those, 50 feet long. Darn...shoulda coulda woulda!!! How many times do we grumble That to ourselves! 😆

I recently got a metal hose, and love it. It never kinks!
I'm replacing a two year old REAL RUBBER hose today. I've never had one fail so quickly.
Otherwise, I've found the pocket hoses to be useless. Once the pressure is released in them, by the simple act of USING them, they have NO pressure and fight to crawl back to the spigot.
The metal ones are fine though, for short runs.
(My rubber hose is a 200 foot run.)
I also need to do onions and corn. How many ears of corn do you get into a pint? And did you cook it first?
I got 3 pounds of corn (and that was a little two full) on each tray, and I blanched it first and just put kernels on the tray- and that was a about a pint per pound.
Two diced, MASSIVE white onions per tray, about 2-2.5 pounds worth.
