What did you do in the garden today?

I am so over pocket hoses, fabric hoses, and so on. Today while preparing to water bean seeds, it exploded where I was holding it and I got soaked! For the same price, I recently bought a stainless steel hose. It is lightweight and should withstand pressure. Time will tell its durability. I cannot also stand big heavy hoses.
Hoses also get mighty heavy when you've got 250 feet to run the water through. I got those Zero hoses in 2020, figured they'd be lighter to deal with & they are til ya run water into them...like duh, water is heavy! Lol So yeah, best for me to remember, stretch & unroll hose BEFORE turning water on!

They've held up but 1 does have some sort of small leak by the end, most likely from stretching the hose out or pulling it out. I cannot stand the old rigid hoses, we used to have in the 60s & 70s...we drank from the hose as kids, remember that taste? Not healthy. Probably why I am falling apart today.

I got more back injections this morning, at L4 & L5. 2 weeks ago was sacroiliac. I've been hurting so bad. I'm on ice packs now, so obviously no gardening for a bit. We had thunderstorms roll through last night, so everything got watered well.

I did get a few Japanese Dwarf Maple cuttings yesterday from our clients at the jobsite & I am trying to root them. I can't find the growth hormone I thought I had, so I had to order some...hope they'll make it.

Wow, those look good! I would love to dehydrate some onion/garlic, but oh, the SMELL!!! I assume you didn't smell onion when you FD'd it, right?

How would you FD potatoes? Would you need to blanch the at all first? Do you need to blanch veg before FD?
I think I saw a video that said you should blanch any veggies that you would before freezing. I have some cauliflower and broccoli I'm gonna FD tomorrow. I'll blanch it before I FD it.

Pi hates me
Virginia creeper also known as wood vine, doesn't bother me.
That picture doesn't look like either. Looks like invasive trumpet vine, but I could be wrong.
Wow, I've seen garden centers selling Trumpet Vine & the other invasive purple flowered vine, can't think of the name. Yeah, then of course they were selling Bishop's Weed...& me not knowing any year better in my early 20s bought some. Well, it's a ground cover & I used it for an odd spot at my old house, which did well & stayed right where I planted it. But now, I seem to have brought some with me by accident when I moved here...it Likes it here, a lot! It's spreading!

Aha, that purple vine is Wisteria.
(Yah, wisteria, listeria, drive me to hysteria 😆 )

does burying whole eggs help plants grow? is it the yolk etc or mainly the egg shell?
I buried the whole egg, shell, yolk and white. I crushed it in the bottom of the hole and mixed it with dirt before refilling the hole. I've read that it helps, but it might just be a myth. Worth a try.

Good morning gardeners. It is pouring outside right now. It’s supposed to clear out of here by noon. Fingers crossed. I’m hoping to get the herb garden finished up today.
Woody stem herbs prefer rocky, well draining soil. I'm going to make a new raised bed specifically for this type of herb with a soil mix of 1/3 grit, 2/3 compost. I'm using small, crushed gravel I have on hand and chicken litter compost. It should be a good place for my oregano, thyme, sage and tarragon. If my rosemary seeds germinate, they'll go into that bed too.
