What did you do in the garden today?

I've been hunting potato bugs to give to the chickens. Well, to get them out of the potato plants.

Yesterday I found some eggs, so I've missed several. The eggs are easy to see, since they're neon orange. They're on leaves closer to the ground, so I have to bend way over to find them.
Ugh, sacroiliac does not like bending...I get knee pads on & kneel. Save your back!

I'm trying Sluggo Plus for earwigs. I sprinkled some in the garden yesterday, so time will tell if it works.

Whats the main ingredient? It's fuzzy but it looks like it says iron phosphate? Can you put this on lettuce or other veggies and then eat it the next day?

Earwigs...what weird annoying bugs! They hide inside the door cracks of all pens here, so when I open any door, those annoying bugs fall, mostly onto me. Once they hit the ground, the chickens get them. But the ones that hit me & run around on my hair or clothes...well, it's me out there doin a chicken dance trying to swipe them off. 😆 My neighbor said it was very entertaining to see. Between trying to stomp fireants, waving off flies & swiping off earwigs, no wonder I'm so tired by end of day.

I thought I'd read up the bugs...they eat aphids? But can start eating your garden. I use DE or cayenne, & do not see earwigs in my garden. They prefer my doors here, go figure.

I have done...absolutely nothing outside for like two weeks now. My dad mowed my front lawn for me while I was on vacation last week, and kinda mostly took out my baby Persian shield and almost took out some of my hostas (in his defense, I didn't warn him about any of those plants being in weird places). One of my wild grapes is doing quite well, and I plan to plant it in its final place in the fall. Peach and apple are still growing. One things go dormant I need to get the peach tree up and replant it on higher ground.

Other than that, I'm holed up with covid now, so the plants will just have to deal with themselves for a bit.
Do you feel sick or just positive test, if I may ask.
Also, sunshine is very good in the healing process - fresh air too - if you feel up to it.

It contains iron phosphate and a small percentage of spinosad and is sprinkled on the ground below the plants, not on the plants. It's OMRI listed for organic gardening. You can download the product label from this link:

I turned the irrigation on in the garden for a little while I wrestled with the Catawba vine that is suddenly going insane, the vines growing like mad. I refilled the bird fountain and bath and put eyes on the tomatoes. It's too hot to pull ragweed today.
I planted 4 hibiscus starts that a friend gave me.
Beyond that, I've been working on that weird space under the stairs that had been full of out of date paint cans, old light bulbs, screens etc. I have two more shelves, for jars to go, but I ran out of 1x8s.
It's always cool and dark under there, so that's Freeze Dryer stuff storage.
Behind the egg carton shelf, laying flat, are all the unused window screens in that short angled bit at the very end.
