What did you do in the garden today?

Do you feel sick or just positive test, if I may ask.
Also, sunshine is very good in the healing process - fresh air too - if you feel up to it.
Both, lucky me! I made it four and a half years before getting it, at least?
If I can drag myself outside I do need to go pick some of my wild blackberries. Right now I'm sitting with a constant low-grade fever and my joints hurt too much to do a lot of moving around. At least I have my indoor plants, by which I mean my army of inch plants.

Been super busy. DS is on summer vacation now. My fridge did that freeze up thing where I can hear the fan hitting the ice. Going to deal with that today. Good thing I haven't been to Costco yet!

My back is slowly recovering! Wooo! Today I got bold and used the hula-hoe for a little bit.

Yesterday DS and I went to farm supply yesterday and I got some plants.... And a pot... And a hummingbird feeder that is easy to clean. My boy is obsessed with feeding them so I'm making him commit to daily cleaning if he wants to feed them. I got two more bell pepper plants, a black beauty squash, and one more carving pumpkin plant. I got all of them in the ground in under 24 hours! A new record. 🤣

I'm going to work on drip line today! And empty the fridge to defrost. 🙄

Pulled out the peas finally.

I hope you feel better soon. I got in early on - frontline worker. Worst part was my taste going away - very weird

I also did a lil caring for the fig tree I chopped all the way down last year due to fig borers
Fig borers? WTH? 😲

I cut what's probably the last of the lettuce for dinner, then pulled most of it & planted bush cukes in it's place. I left some spinach & lettuce to bolt so I can save seeds. I've never grown bush cukes, but I feel like they'll do well in the GreenStalk.

Hope you feel better soon, too. My sense of smell & taste are so strong, I kinda wish I could turn mine down. Wish I could turn down hearing as well, low hums, high pitch sounds & vibrations or drums miles away can drive me nuts. No one seems bothered by a windmill not far away, it sounds like an airplane turbine to me, or constant jet flybys. I feel earth tremors, too, like underground thunder & we had them a full year after a recent earthquake, liked to drive me bonkers, especially trying to sleep. I can hear & smell a stinkbug crawling 3 rooms away or smell a skunk a mile away. 😆 Covid did not affect me at all in that regard.

Flies...we just had a lot of rain overnight & the number of flies around my chicken's pens & in the coop is just crazy today. I've cleaned up obvious poo, but with the rain, Everything outside is still very wet. I used the sticky ribbons for years but they don't seem to work well these days, not sure why, and besides, I really do not want to risk a bird getting hung up in a sticky fly ribbon. It happened one time, years ago, curious girl liked pecking at flies, decided to check out the hanging buzzing fly ribbon & made a jump for it. She was fine, just a bit bald for awhile & I do not care to repeat that experience.
So what is your best treatment for flies?

Yes they are horrible. Bored holes straight through all the limbs and trunk of tree. My friend who had several very old trees lost hers last year too even w using BT (I’m trying not to use too often- still haven’t opened bottle 😂)
