Drove home from Costco with my windows down. HUGE HUGE mistake. Massive sinus headache. But I was out of water for my navage. First thing I did when I got home was rinse out my brain. Didn't work. HOT half hour shower helped a LOT. Now I'm sitting here with a sinus headache hangover.
Otherwise, the disc mower is already hooked up and waiting.
Felt like 100 today. Rinse and repeat for the next 4 days, with severe weather over night each night.
And keep your head and the Navage level. That thing is a life saver for me.I heat the water for 25 seconds in my microwave (yours may vary) keep your mouth open and remember to breathe through it. Breathe exaggerated, like blowing out candles, if you need to.
Can I visit? Will work for food in those temps!Windows open, fan blowing out upstairs. It's 67 degrees in the house right now.
The last cool blast before we get upper 80s and low 90s in the coming days.
Guineas pecking alongside of chickens then flying a bit with the Pigeons
I do it a bit differently, I kinda hold my breath while I tilt my head back & drip the water into my 1 nostril, let it roll back in there, then I breathe or rather snort the water that's in there back & down the throat to gather it all to be spit out of my mouth, then after spitting out gunk into the sink, promptly blow my nose. I do that a few times, then repeat with the other nostril. One side always seems more clogged than the other. I know that is not how you're supposed to do it, you're supposed to let it flow into one nostril then it should flow out of the other but my sinuses don't work that way. I'm too jammed up & have an odd right nostril they messed up with 2 surgeries supposedly to correct a badly deviated septum...now I not only still have deviation but there in the middle of the nostril is cartilage, looks like a white bridge in there. Also the 2nd surgery took some tissue, called a turbanectomy, supposed to reduce the swollen tissue. It did turn my constantly clogged nose into a nose that is either clogged or running like a faucet, but it also left me with a spot that never healed, it always is raw, sometimes bleeds, so I have to Qtip every morning, remove the hard scab blocking that right nostril so all the gunk behind the scab can be blown out. Talk about botched surgery, right? I've been to a few sinus Docs over the years, see if they can cauterize that darn raw area, but it seems I'm stuck like this. The removal of the swollen tissue was too much, left area of bare cartilage that should have tissue over it. Whatever. Anyway...didn't mean to write a book, but just wanted to tell ya there is more than one way to flush out your sinuses. The navage way most use is alot faster than how I do it, but the end result is that same, clear & able to breathe.I heat the water for 25 seconds in my microwave (yours may vary) keep your mouth open and remember to breathe through it. Breathe exaggerated, like blowing out candles, if you need to.
The insect load this year is crazy! Very frustratingJapanese beetles are causing havoc. They've hit my Catawba grapes and canna lilies really hard. They both are all in tatters... Then they moved on to my raspberries and strawberries. Going to have to spray tonight, no question. I'll also pick up some trap bags this afternoon... And begin my daily hunt with the soap water bucket.
No tomatoes for us, yet!Today we were supposed to get rain. I felt a few drops. That was it. All the significant rain went elsewhere. I watered the heavy soil garden, thinking a little reverse psychology would help. Nope. I'll be watering the sandy soil garden tomorrow.
I also put some compost around the onion plants, to try to goose them a bit and get them to grow.
I did see this:
