What did you do in the garden today?

I just can't. I think about water in my nose and I start gagging. I tried the netti and almost drowned myself lol.

My DH uses allergy nasal spray.... I tried it once and threw up. Now if I even smell it I start to gag. I'm so sensitive.... it's just not fair.

Today I weeded and weeded my walkways, potted a few plants in pots, watered, etc. it was 94 today. Stay tuned for photos. Switching devices so I can upload. :D
An allergist recommended Flonase to me. Talk about gag & puke, snort, gag & spit then puke again reflex, oh that stuff is nasty, as Any nasal spray is. I cannot do the sprays at all. I can barely do the saline drip a few drops at a time stuff, but at least that is not a horrid taste lasting for hours. Sinuses are just a PITA aren't they?!

Looked in bean tunnel and the aphids seem to have left! Probably back on gardenia and crepe Myrtle.
Trying again to grow herbs in grow bags. They were on front patio and I’ve moved and reseeded.
Hope it’s not the bags 😱
I guess I need to start a thread, is my chicken normal?
They roost facing the wall. We do have a fan in the door to keep air circulating- wondering is they don’t like breeze on face

It is funny, Parrots or any birds indoors, prefer to be by a wall & will perch with their backs to the wall, looking into the room & knowing no one is sneaking up behind them. My pigeons are similar, the perches are in the loft, about a foot away from the wall, & they perch with backs to the wall. (A foot away so when they poo, it does not end up on the wall)

I thought chickens & roosters would perch the same way, but they don't, they can face either way, they do not seem to care. I guess they feel totally safe in their coop space & do not feel as vulnerable? I don't know, but I noticed they do not follow the "back to the wall" perching. Go figure!

They perch staggered...some face wall, some don't.

Even outside, staggered...well, makes sense there, a chicken can see in all directions that way. But yeah...never do all chickens face the same direction, indoors or outdoors.

Ok! Whew. It’s normal chicken behavior 😂. We forgot to close the door one night and they were not on perch but huddled in corner and on top of each other!!! Crazy birds. I know they were afraid then.
Told dh that I wouldn’t be surprised if the first chicken we lose is because they smothered one!

That's why my flock also enjoy safety of the predator proof pens, because if a predator got them in the night, I'd be devastated. I've never had a raccoon attack but I've heard the sad stories...they kill every bird & leave behind a bloodbath. I do not want raccoons, foxes, snakes, stray dogs or rodents in with the chickens. With predator proof pens I can leave their coop chicken doors & windows open for air flow all summer. Think about some pens, they're not hard to build & worth peace of mind. My flock can free range when I am there with them & I have chased off many hawks, a raccoon & young male fox. Avoid potential disaster whenever you can.

That is a beautiful coop! We have electric fence around ours bc we were one who lost all to stupid raccoons!
