What did you do in the garden today?

This is what I've been using. No smell, no grease nor sticky, goopy feeling. 14 hours protection. Might work on the no see'ums. Essential oil sprays have to be reapplied more often. I do like natural diy things, but don't like the bug sprays because they have oil in them.

My dog disappeared yesterday. I let her out about 2 PM and laid down for a little over an hour. Got up and no dog. In that time someone called the police and said someone dumped the dog. Police came ran my plates called in the animal shelter and they took my dog off my deck. No one knocked on the door to ask is this your dog. I searched and had a sleepless night. Searched again today. Animal shelter open from 12 to 2. They had her and admitted she took her from my deck.
How much would your dog be worth, and isn't this theft? So wrong! Sorry you had to go through this anxiety, glad you were reunited.

Ducks. I had to block all of my melons and cucumber leaves from them, they have a whole yard of stuff yet they want to strip leaves from my garden stuffs! :he
The stuff is always tastier in the garden, and the dirt so much more fun to bathe in for chickens. Mine are not allowed in there at all. Fenced off.

I dug out 6 buckets of weeds. The weed pile in the compost bin is getting huge.

We got some rain! Plants were starting to look a bit stressed, so this really helps them. And me because I don't have to water them. :)
Rain is always a welcome break from watering, except when there are still raspberries on the plants. Some of mine molded.

Good morning gardeners. Still sprinkling outside. No plans for garden work today. I’m almost done preparing the garage for the stove pellet delivery. I uncovered the last pallet and realized I have 11 bags of pellets left. I checked with the vendor and they will be happy to move that pallet out of the way so they can place the full pallets tomorrow morning. That saves me from having to move those bags twice. That’s 440 pounds of pellets. I would like to check on my zucchini plant and see if the latest squash is ready for picking. One of my okra plants has 2 blossoms on it. Yay! Today is laundry and bread making. I’m jealous of your potato harvest @Acre4Me. Mine is not so abundant, however I recently read an article saying that a potato patch needs 3 to 4 years between planting them. I’ve only been waiting a year planting peas or beans in their place. So I guess I need to stretch mine out another year or two. I do like that you can your potatoes. Grocery store potatoes do not last long. When the fresh potatoes hit the market in September I’m thinking of buying and freezing as much as I can.
Potato patches can be rotated with other things for the next 3 years, just not potatoes. I try to plant legumes so it would put the nitrogen back. And use chicken manure, if you have it.

I’m pretty sure I over did it yesterday (weeding, raking plus work) as I slept in and did nothing in garden other than take mental notes of what I need to do. I did take a pic of this butternut squash next to my gourds. Think some cross pollination is going on!
The results of cross pollination shows up in the seed produced and the plants and fruit from them.
