Best spray for poison ivy? I haven't used any chemicals in years but the PI has gotten out of control. I had half a gallon of old spray and it killer the new Leaves but not the older leaves much less the plant. Too far to carry boiling water

Oh yeah, I also cut up my 2nd 20lb Desert King watermelon tonight. I only ate half of the last one and gave the rest to the chickens as a treat during triple digits. Even with this latest one, I only actually diced up half for the family to eat. The other half is wrapped up in the refrigerator.

And I've probably got at least 2 more in the garden that are close to harvest and at least 10 in various stages of growth besides those.

I wonder what freeze dried watermelon tastes like? I don't know what else to do with them...

If the melon is good, it’s actually pretty tasty freeze dried.

G’morning all. I haven’t done anything but water today. The storms in summer bring me migraines and I was down for about 3 days. Better today, so I went to the feed store and brought home three chicks. I think two are silver laced blue Wyandottes and one is a blue Australorp. Gotta run to the grocery store, enjoy your Saturday everyone.

Mix the juice with vodka and simple syrup?

We did make a lot of watermelon margaritas while on the beach last year... But I don't need THAT many margaritas based on the amount of melons I expect to harvest

My reality is I cannot grow broccoli or cauliflower for the life of me.
Something eats them to stubs.

Dang @TJAnonymous - another great idea for my strawberry rhubarb - Margaritas!

I just canned 15 jars of it & didn't want to do another batch so I put a couple cups in containers to freeze for ice cream, & now margaritas!

There all popping as I type, well see if there are any fails.

Thunderstorm was coming and we were chasing hens inside. I banged the herding stick on the coop decking to get them to run out from underneath and inside and out flew about 100 wasps. One zapped me. Dang it. I got the hens in and then drowned the hidden, under the porch nest with raid wasp spray.
We have rules people!

We had a surprise rain storm this morning. Got a little over a tenth of an inch. Of course, it's now in the triple digits....and ungodly humid.

Rinse and repeat for tomorrow night.

It's supposed to rain a half inch or so overnight but I probably jinxed it. I watered my garden.

I picked around 10 small tomatoes yesterday, most of them turning, a couple ripe enough to eat. I need to pick beans this afternoon, too.

I cold-pressed half the aronia berries I harvested and froze the other half for another day.

I processed them in the blender with water and then let it steep in the fridge for 2 days. Strained everything today.

I got a quart of juice. Made up 5 ice cube trays with juice. Froze a pint of juice. Attempting to make a half pint of simple syrup. And drank about a half pint with a little bit of sugar... Not bad, eh? It tasted pretty good.

And I only harvested about half the berries. There's still a bunch more but freezer space is at a premium around here....
