What did you do in the garden today?

I'm home for lunch break. Got to water my seedlings in the garden.

Photos of the fall seeds and such. I'll be upset if I don't get at least one plant per cell with those broccoli and cauliflower.... I put like 8 seeds per cell last night.

And this massive Jersey Devil tomato. That guy puts my giant Amish paste to shame. 🤣

Does anyone here freeze onions?

I have several that have some rotten/rotting layers, but most of the bulb is good. I want to save what I can, because the onion harvest was less than spectacular.

My plan is to cut off the bad stuff, then chop the rest. I plan to freeze 1/4-1/3 cup amounts on a cookie sheet, then put the blobs in a ziploc bag.

Any other suggestions?
I freeze chopped onion. Just be aware when it thaws, it tends to be soft and/or slimy, which is usually fine for their intended uses.

Does that mean it smells like tomato plant? 🤣
IT absolutely does.
I sprayed it and went OOOOOO LEMON Balm, then within a few seconds I smelled the unmistakable smell, stink of tomato plants. I thought it was me, as I had just finished picking tomatoes and hour earlier and thought it was on my arms or shirt.
But then I looked at the description on the display....tomato plant! LOL

Very good point! I was going to chop some up this morning, but we're going to a funeral this afternoon, and I didn't want my hands to smell like onion.
If you put hand soap or dishwashing liquid on your hands and grab a silverware spoon and wash your hands with the spoon, rub it like a bar of soap, it takes the stink off your hands.
