What did you do in the garden today?

Can't remember if I posted my lovely sunflowers. So gonna save some seeds.

My sage is finally done. Took 2 days in the dehydrator. But that pint should last me a while.
Other than in Thanksgiving dressing, I have never used sage. I have a sage plant that is doing very well (now that it's in the garden and getting plenty of light), and I want to dry some. But I only make stuffing once or twice a year.

So... what is sage good with?

I thought it was for soup, but this is the first year I’ve tried to grow it, so I’m interested in suggestions too.

I used sage to flavor up a home made soup years ago. I took a jar to my dad's & he tasted it & said wow, that's some kick-ass soup! It was quite delicious 😋 & flavorful, plus it really was great for a sore winter throat. I love red pepper & garlic for tomato based soups, but a bit of sage to any veggie or chicken soup or stew really adds that zip. It doesn't take much either.

If you have dried, crumbled (or powdered?) sage, how much would you add to say, 4-5 quarts of soup?
I usually add it according to taste as I'm cooking because some sage batches seem more potent than others, or as grandma would say, start with a pinch then go from there. Just don't be swigging too much wine as you cook...ya might end up with too much kick-ass. 😆
