Well my goats are giving it a good try... This is the 3rd time they've gotten ahold of it and created the worst damage yet. I finally got DH trained to NOT leave the door to the duck pen open and then I go and accidentally do it


It's amazing this tree has survived this long.

My house came with a very old mulberry tree. It used to creek and squeal in the wind and I thought it was dying. The arborist cut it to the ground, ran the saw all through it and poured caustic soda on it....it loved it!! 40yrs on and I am still eating berries from it. I have a bucket of seedlings sitting in water, drying out, filling with rain, all winter long and are still alive! lol

Something like this will keep them from stripping it until it's mature enough to fight back

Anyone happen to know if lemons will ripen off the tree? I've got several that are half yellowish now.

I leave mine on the tree. It takes a long time for them to turn yellow. I only pick them when I need them or when they turn yellow. They turn yellow after I pick them.

Morning. Thunderstorms ending around 9 AM. Had an appointment with my diabetic doctor yesterday. Good checkup. A1c 6.7. Goal anything under 7. Convinced DW to try propolis for her cellulitis. I keep bees but she said no to the stuff from my hive. We bought capsules from the vitamin shop.

That's my life here as well. It's been 106+ everyday since Tuesday.

Which has put my fall/winter garden on hold. I need to start pulling out pepper plants to make room for garlic and amend the soil in all of my beds. I'm going to start more beets indoors this weekend, and new cabbage.

Also last night I finally got more than 4 hours of sleep since last Monday. I have felt pretty useless without sleep. Hopefully today is better. I feel like I can actually focus this morning
