What did you do in the garden today?

Today I prepped the two beds for garlic and multiplier onions. I put compost on, raked it level, and then hoed furrows in. I watered the furrows well. We might get a few hundredths of an inch of rain tomorrow, maybe more on Friday. I plan to plant on Thursday. That would be another garden thing marked off the list.
I hope to do this this weekend, get the garlic bed ready & get some compost on it & get it watered. Maybe for planting the following weekend.

Any ideas on keeping the dang woodpecker from ruining my coop? I put out rubber snakes, it throws them on the ground, lol. So today I went & stapled cardboard up over the 3 holes till I could come up with a better idea & it actually found a new spot & pecked a new hole in in the matter of an hour or 2! 🤬
I am SO over the dang critters this year.

well i checked it says my area is in moderate drought. I thought it would be more than moderate since it hasn’t rained in I don’t know 8 to 10 weeks? But apparently from January to August was the wettest year in a long time.
But the water measuring calendar runs from Oct 1st to the end of September the following year.

well drought.gov said it this way . and i guess 35th out of 130 isn’t that bad actually. but in sept we had less than half inch rain , and none at all in oct.

He might be telling you something.
I had a woodpecker on the house going to town. Turned out I had carpenter ants in the siding he was going after.
