What did you do in the garden today?

No I haven't made a Burrata. Mozzarella is difficult to make consistently. Trying to make mozzarella consistently is what made me give up on cheesemaking.
3-4 years later I decided to try making Cheddar skipping the so-called beginners cheese Mozzarella. Cheddar is 100 times easier to make for me.
Yea, I don't know why they include mozz in the little make at home boxes - it's not easy to make!

Got some progress made extracting the sweet basil seeds, but not as much as I’d like. Too cold and rainy out to winnow them outside and I didn’t especially want to blow seed head fragments all over the inside 😝 so it’s waiting for drier weather. Not complaining though, I’d rather have the rain!

Thank you, just ordered that book. Been wanting to make my own cheese for a long time. Nice to start out with a recommended book instead of just blundering through with online e recipes that may or may not work.
The Traditional Cheddar recipe in that book is the only one that don't recommend, it is missing some steps.
The other recipes are great, I especially like the Farmhouse Cheddar and the Stirred Curd Cheddar, fyi.
Do you have raw milk, or will you be using pasteurized/homogenized?
