I'm not really worried about the time. Just curious if anyone has done itIt might be better to buy a plant from the nursery and clone or graft them. Mandarine seeds take 4 to 7 years to start producing fruit.

Ditto here.I need to start planning what I'm going to start indoors & go thru seeds. Not feeling very motivated though.
I started getting into Galanga, it's like a ginger, but taste different. I bought a root from Ebay, and it has been growing in a container for more than 3 years. I found out that it supposed to alleviate arthritic pain, and it's considered a medicinal plant in Asia. I made a filtered tea or broth with chopped stem pieces of galanga, minced ginger, turmeric powder, cummin powder, coriander seed powder, bay leaf, dried chili pepper, chicken bouillon, salt, sugar and chicken bone broth. I used chili pepper because the capsaicin supposed to reduce blood pressure.
Down here too.Snowing here 1+ inches so far.
She is not waiting for springWoke up to a foot of snow. It's still snowing for several more hours... Predictably, the chickens don't want to come out of the coop. Made sure there was plenty of food and water in there for them. Was sitting in the barn petting our barn cat and heard a strange noise. Looked down the aisleway and, sure enough, there's a chicken scratching around in the dirt. At first I thought maybe she just got caught in there before it started snowing... But then I got suspicious. In the picture below from the pasture cam, you can see the distance between the coop (edge of the white building on the lower left) to the barn (big beige building). So I gathered her up and little bit of food in a bowl and followed her. Sure enough! That little hussy is sitting on a boatload of eggs in a hidden nest!

I salt fermented some green brad's crazy cherry tomatoes last year and put a little Italian season in the brine. However, if I ever do this again, I will use just plain salt without any season and pick them smaller. It kind of taste like pickled cappers.my tomato plants are still alive. there are a few green tomatoes but with short days and cooler temperatures they would need almost 2 months to ripen if we don't get any frost. watering again. we might get some rain on monday.
