I couldn’t find the grow lights I wanted at Lowes (out of stock) so today I just went and ordered some shop lights.
they work out!

We bought 2 sleeves of them but are trying to use up our Ball lids first! So frustrating when you know you wiped everything clean and they don't seal.Afternoon everyone. I watered this morning and refilled the duck pool. That’s it outside, I was canning and dehydrating instead.
Has anyone here tried ForJars canning lids? I had one jar that didn’t seal so I threw the chili in the freezer instead, but it has been hit or miss with Ball lids and I’m kinda mad about it.
I start Holy Basil from seed and it does great. Dry it and use in my hot winter teas! It is supposed to self seed but where I have it doesn't work for that.I didn't yet... I am planning to sow them in the spring garden though! I'm very excited to see if it does well.

We're so deep in drought, I feel like we'll never get out. It'll pour come spring, but then stop, which is worse. The Weather Channel did a story today about drought potential for this spring and summer. We've had so much wet weather that I'm concerned it's going to flip on its head over the next few months. They predict Arkansas will remain about normal but most of the West, Southwest, and Plains area will either persist or develop drought over the next 3 months.![]()
Mine work just fine. LED daylight shop lights.I couldn’t find the grow lights I wanted at Lowes (out of stock) so today I just went and ordered some shop lights.they work out!
I save the ball lids that come with the jars for dry good vacuum sealing and with that, I STILL add a ring. They are now thing and complete and utter crap.We bought 2 sleeves of them but are trying to use up our Ball lids first! So frustrating when you know you wiped everything clean and they don't seal.
OH but the buyer who WANTS to escape the city, but still be close to it to have the mystical "country" life would love to buy it.I moved the seeds I started outside to germinate since it's going to be so nice this week.
I didn't get time today to make it down to the garden to sow cold weather veggies in the ground. Hopefully I will get time to do it tomorrow.
Also had a conversation with DH about maybe buying some property further away from town and building a house. While I absolutely LOVE my current house, I'm worried about the area getting more new construction every year. I live right on the edge of town but my house is still very secluded and private. Our neighbor (a developer) decided to sell his house next to us but retained the 4 acres behind my property because he wants to put duplexes back there someday. He refuses to sell it to us even though that property USED to be part of our lot. He basically swindled it from the previous homeowner who was being scammed by a woman who only married him to steal his money.
Anyway, I've spent 5 years putting in fruit trees and nice perennial veggies, berries, etc... As much as I want to get further from town, I'd have to walk away from all that work and bounty. Just sucks!
We usually get almost 40 inches of snow... about 10 so far. Were in abnormally dry to moderate drought the last couple yearsThe Weather Channel did a story today about drought potential for this spring and summer. Makes me wonder how your current drought/weather patterns compare to the dust bowl of the 1930s? Maybe this is part of a natural cycle? We're so deep in drought, I feel like we'll never get out. It'll pour come spring, but then stop, which is worse.
