What did you do in the garden today?

Do you cover your carrot seeds after planting to keep them moist for the first week or so? I place boards over mine and check every few days until I see the sprouts.

That's the way to get carrot seeds going. Cover them with boards until they start sprouting. Works well.

I ran the weed eater for an hour and a half today. Got the fence line, around the house and the ditch along the road. I totally forgot about trimming around the raised beds. Oh well.

I have several piles of grass trimmings in the yard to move to the garden. Makes great mulch that stops weeds from growing.

Voles are why I moved nearly all of my root vegetables into raised beds...

I do have an aforementioned stray Tom cat that likes to hunt said voles in my garden area....

My beets are in a raised bed, those durn voles still got in! Good news is no activity since I dropped the poison in their holes. Maybe ill get those beets this year after all. Lucky I saw it before too much damage was done.

I caught 19 rats in my car using 2 different traps. there is at least one rat that totally ignores the trap. I must find a way to catch it. although I don't like killing animals I don't mind killing rats and mice. they did too much damage to me.

I'd have a stroke.... I absolutely positively HATE mice and rats, but especially mice. When DH and I were first married, we lived in an old trailer next to his grandparents. It was infested with mice... In the walls, cabinets, everywhere.

I have such a ridiculous aversion to them now that I can easily go overboard when it comes to getting rid of them. Thankfully I have not had to deal with mice in my house in a very, very long time. Occasionally they get in my garage and it's amazing there are walls still standing by the time I'm through....

No, I keep a tight row string and plant under the string. I have laid white TP in the row and put the seed on it like seed tape.

I think my chicks might have a mental problem. They don't like to use the perch but they have no problem standing on the feeder to drink water

The Paw Paw seeds have finished stratifying or I see them sprouting. planted them up. Now to see if they take.

I have voles in my raised beds but they don't do much damage to my garden plants. I just accept the damage they do in return for the soil aeration and fertilizing services they provide.

Did a little cut and squirt on some brush trying to take over. Really short of breath lately. Trying to get an appoint with my cardiologist. I think I am in AFIB. Pulse 93 to 103 and oxygen 97 to 100. Efficiency must be low.

That’s really unsettling. I had a weird EKG in January. At first cardiologist thought it might be AFIB. After monitoring for 5 days turns out I have bradycardia. Due to strong heart. Good to know.
