I like the new avatars, everyone! I am clearing brush and weeds to plant the hollies husband bought to plant as a screen for the goat shed. Good choice, as goats do not eat them. And i will be blazing a path to the site for my hoop coop build. Has to be wide enough for the Mule to pass through so i should get a lot of branches for guinea perches.

Not much today in the garden today. Tomorrow is picking corn, kale, Swiss chard and peppers. Waiting for temps to drop to turn in compost. Wish I could bring the girls in to pick through the compost.

I added a bunch of partially decomposed leaves to my compost pile because there were so many and i really don't like burning them. Sat for quite a while watching the fire tonight. Lots of piles of junk wood to be burned. So i will have plenty of ash for the garden.

I have several small squash coming on crook neck, have some great going on potatoes and tomato's

Planting garlic cloves in green house. Have opened garden gate for the birds. Feed consumption is down.

Seems to me i am always sick and i am always working. How can it be that it seems nothing ever gets done? Maybe i should start taking a day off now and then, other than shopping.

I bet you could use some R & R - it seems like you're always working so hard! How did your Dr. visit go the other day? Can they do anything about your infections?

Dang it! I pulled something in my back last night when bending over to pick up a chicken dish. Have had back issues for years, but after going through weeks of physical therapy recently, I learned about the benefits of ice and ibuprofen for injuries and inflammation. So I immediately started icing my back last night, and though it's still very sore, I would say it's already showing a little improvement, which is something that normally doesn't happen for days after my back goes out. So I'm optimistic for a quick(er) recovery than normal. For at least a few days, though, I'll probably be stuck in my recliner for the most part. Bummer.
