What did you do in the garden today?

My thoughts of starting the garden again this year again is put on hold as we are in for more snow, more water for the (well). Hope to land another job soon, I am spent with the current one, topping this all off, Strep has caught me once again, this strand has me freezing while my temp runs 102-103.

Most of my gardening activity today was looking up old victory garden diagrams and realizing they’re screamingly inefficient. 😱

But I did check my beans today and one of them has already found the stake. 🎉

I'm glad I have a fenced in backyard where deer, etc. can't get in. Enough issues with feral cats coming in to 💩 in my raised beds & squirrels bringing walnuts from the neighbor's tree & trading them for my red potatoes.
I lay extra fencing on my beds here and there. TPosts also, all the things in the off season..The neighborhood cats really help with mice by leaving them dead, along with baby bunnies etc, on my porch. I tell them they need a raise!

Pray you feel better and that strep goes away quickly!!

Got some soil today to start my Leek seeds. I wasn't even going to plant them this year. BUT my daughter in law is starting her first garden this year since they finally have a house. Why yes, yes, I will start as many seeds as you will want, to help plant the love of gardening in you!

I just couldn’t butcher one of our chickens so having this livestock auction nearby is definitely a blessing. I don’t think we’ll let our hens hatch out anymore nor do I think we’ll buy chicks again. We’ve pretty much decided to buy pullets in the future regardless of cost. Giving our chickens, our roosters, up for auction is hard for me even knowing their presence puts stress on the flock. Rock and a hard place for me.
Is castration an option?
