The guys are busy ripping out the bad work the one guy did and replacing it. Sigh. Maybe next year they will finish my goat shed!

Spring is on the way!

Yesterday, I noticed a beginning infestation of spider mites in one of my geraniums. So, I filled a trash can full of water, with some Sevin, and tipped all of my plants upside down and swished them in the Sevin mixture. Then, after they drained in the tub for a bit, I poured the Sevin liquid into the soil, let the leaves dry a bit, gave them a shower, and moved them all back to the windows.

Bought some sprouting seeds at the health food store. They wanted $8 for 8 oz. of mixed seeds/beans. Instead, I bought a variety of organic beans from the bulk bins: 12 oz. (adzuki, mung, lentils) for $1.50. Also bought some alfalfa seeds. The bean seeds should give me 4 qt. of sprouts. That's a lot of fresh veggies for a little money and a little investment of time.

Have 3 qt of sprouts growing for the flock now.
