What did you do in the garden today?

I have seeds sprouting indoors.Six kinds of tomato.broccoli and brussel sprouts. Beautiful day here today about 50 and sunny. I dug up some pear suckers and grafted them to bartlet pear. Put them in a tote and covered it with moist potting mix to heal. I have flowering pear growing wild on my place that I am using as rootstock. These grafted trees will grow in the garden for a year. Destined to go into a woodland food plot on my property. Deer / wildlife food. Total of 8 grafted. Wait and see how many take.

Just found this thread! So here's what I've done this week : planted cabbages, peas, onions, leeks, and beets. Fertilized and applied compost to the garden. Prepared the bee plot, and planted the flowers and clover. And tomorrow I'll be planting raspberry bushes and plum trees. I'm so excited!

Finally, yesterday was sunny...too wet to work the soil, so I weeded and trimmed. Pulled privet and honeysuckle (this area's invasive nuisance species), trimmed honeysuckle off my side of the neighbors fence, pulled briars from amongst the perennials. I need new gloves, those thorns found all the holes.

The raised beds were sort of dry enough to set out more lettuce, including Red Iceberg. Also some bunching onion from seed. I hope it's dry enough for more today. (It's six something am, drinking hot tea)
none of my cape gooseberries came up, try again! No fruit last year in the long cool spring. Or the variety. Or ? Trying the common species this year. Checking my lists and planting it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice....

It's very encouraging to read here how everyone's doing.

lol too true.

Lol, it will be winter here before long. Autumn is upon us and at last the rains are here.
