What did you do in the garden today?

Its about 63 here. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'VE REPLANTED 8 TIMES!!!!!! The birds keep getting into my CLOSED green house where I do my seed starting. Now my room is a greenhouse lol! I'M LOOSING MY HEAD TRYING TO REPLACE $30 WORTH OF MAIL ORDER SEEDS! I'm borrowing a bebbe gun (non killing) from my friend. Goodbye birds...

The garden is a pipe dream right now. I started onion seeds on Sunday but I'm still staring at 4-5 feet of snow in the yard and the house was popping and cracking last night as we dropped to -21° overnight. 14° right now feels positively balmy but the anticipation for spring is really starting to build.

Started leeks, parsnip and broad bean seed in the greenhouse today, and one clove of elephant garlic which I've been wanting to try. Cold and windy but mild in comparison to what a lot of you in the US have.

Dreaming of spring. Saw a robin on 2/19 - but they can and do live here year round apparently (northern IL).
Temps got up to a balmy 22 today! That's not Celsius by the way...brrrr....
Ordering a few fruit trees to bide my time before I can be outside!

Have lettuce, fuschia, canna lilies, and begonias enjoying the greenhouse. Also, a large (and I mean large) pile of old cow manure in the yard being enhanced with coffee grounds every day. Hubby has the garden bug so he started watermelon, corn, and cantelope seeds in the house today.

Turned my middle compost bin that is almost finished cooking, took over an hour since I had to rest in between. The compost is a bit heavy from the rain. Added materiel to bin one. Watered seed trays, admired seedlings coming up. Cleaned the temporary tilapia tank filter, it clogs way too fast.
