What did you do in the garden today?

Picked some grapes. There's oodles more.

Very pretty! Bet they're delicious too!

Tried to work in the garden, but the tiny flies and gnats were just horrendous. I know they're coming after me because of sweating. I feel like "Pig Pen" from Charlie Brown! I'm going to get a beekeepers hat for next year! Or maybe stick some Rosemary, lavender, etc. in my hat. They're flying in my ears, eyes, and I think I've swallowed a few too! Nothing like some extra protein!

My lemon grass seems to help with those ( and mosquitoes) if you crush it they don't seem to like the smell.

I built and partially filled three raised beds. I am filling them with composted horse manure and sawdust. I will finish the top of the beds with a more complete compost. I will set plants in it and mulch with wood chips.

Anyone grow in FL? I'm a little N of Daytona & am interested in maybe doing a garden but I don't know the growing season here. Should I just do what it says on the seed packages? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

. You can check out your local extension service. They should tell you all you need to know. They probably have a planting website.

In NW Missouri, our garden is almost done. We just a have a few bell pepper plants left. But we had a great garden this year with sweet corn, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, onions, chives and we just harvested sweet potatoes this last weekend! Sad to see it end, but so looking forward to what we can have next season!
