What did you do in the garden today?

Thanks

That's only the lower garden. I'll be doing corn in that top bed, the others will have things like beans, cowpeas, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, basil, cilantro, marigolds, dill, lovage and tomatillos to name a few.
That is wonderful,I am ignorant but what are cowpeas? My chooks would clean you out in 2 minutes lol Dare I ask what is going on in the 'upper garden' - whatever I am coming for dinner

That is a very nice garden and the soil looks real good. Is that privet in the background? Goats love privet.

Yep! Cowpeas are field peas otherwise known as black eyed peas and the such. I'm growing pinkeye purple hull. Mine did. Not sure yet other than sweet potatoes and watermelons.

Thanks. It does doesn't it? I do think I'm lacking something though as things didn't grow quite right last year, I'll get some soil samples done soon. It's a bunch of things, privet, youpon holly and a lot of bushes, the goats do love it. What you see is the stuff they can't reach.

Dan, I had no idea your garden is so huge.  do you sell your produce?

:) I've got about 2 acres I think that I can use as a garden. I try, sometimes it sells sometimes the bugs eat all of it.

Looking good Dan. :D

Thanks.

Oh man have I got the itch! I live in zone 6a and this it's my second year year of gardening. I've been dumpin soiled coop bedding in the raised beds all winter long. I ordered something like 37 different varieties of veggies and I only have three 4x8 garden beds...lol!

I've got 5 earth boxes and some random spots throughout the yard that are going to get filled for sure!

Currently planning out my seedling setup. May get one of those wire shelving units I see other use with shoplights. Man this is going take up a lot of time and a chunk of money!

Also, not going with peat pods this year. Getting an earlier start than last year so I ordered a TON of those 6 pack nursery containers 1.5 in and 2.25 in deep. Also ordered 4in nursery pots as well. Hoping they'll do better than using the peat pods last year. I ran into the problem of roots growing out of them and into their neighbors pods by the time I could put plant them. What a headache!
