What did you do in the garden today?

Got the old John Deere 110 out with the rototiller on the back. The main garden is done. Going to hit it again next week. It worked up my little patch just fine.

I tried to go around my chokecherry bushes, lilacs and spruce trees. The ground was so hard the tiller would just literally push me across the ground without turning anything over. So asked DH what he used on the uncles wind break. The Ford tractor with a small culivator. Told him I will need that later this week to do all of that.

Suppose to get some Daylilies in the store. I have always loved them but so do my chickens!!!!

My Avocado seedling is doing great!

I am going to wait for the weather to get better first.

Everything I try to type on here is going crazy.
My marker keeps disappearing so I have to keep clicking my mouse to type!
It's driving me crazy! It is only doing this on BYC! What is going on?

How many seedlings do most of your start of different kinds of vegetables? I know some people will plant more than others. But for instance how many tomato, pepper, okra, lettuce etc seedlings do you start and transplant every into the garden every year to actually create a nice production?

chickadoodles no idea why those crazy birds eat my day lilies but they do. Roses are in the ground and looking good. Suppose to rain tomorrow. So hopefully this weekend DH can hook up the Ford and culivator for me and I can get the trees done.

BirdsNRabbits I started at least 12 tomatoe plants and 6 bell pepper plants this year. Several years ago I had 3 rows of bush beans that had 8 plants a piece.

Who's eating your day lilies? Chickens? I've heard that they are quite tasty. The new shoots and the flowers are supposed to be edible. I have yet to try them, but... just might toss some in a salad one of these days.

That's to funny! But sad for you, I'm sorry.

I have an overload of squirrels and they eat everything! This year I hope to put a stop to that! I am getting my gear together.
But the dang this have eaten all but 2 of my elderberry plants. Now I have an owl and two snakes guarding them! As soon as we get the garden together I will put some wire and deer netting around them.

I went ahead and planted it late yesterday in a 1 gallon pot.

I have it outside today to get it hardened off along with a few tomato plants.
