What did you do in the garden today?

Back to Eden. There's a great video on the concept developed by Paul Gautschi

I watched the entire Back to Eden film. Hmmm, very interested in this idea. Now to see where there is a local place to get wood chips. Did find a site on the web where you can sign up and they will have local companies drop off for free. The only problem is that our driveway is SO STEEP that none of the trucks would be able to make it up the hill.

I also saw that 2 of the sunflower seeds have sprouted (only 2 :() I did find a second package of sunflower seeds. Hopefully, I'll have time to plant those tomorrow.

In the process of relocating those bags of leaves, I found 3 huge garter snakes. :love It's so good to see a return of my lovely snakes. I saw a smaller one last week. They are loving the habitat of the HK, slash piles, and leaf bags!

Oh man, this brings back some childhood memories! I used to catch garter snakes with the neighbor boys. We got in trouble for scaring their city cousins by putting them under the porch. Even the boys screamed like girls :lau

I always caught stuff and brought it home to show mom. She is scared to death of snakes. But she always acted brave and said, nice snake dear, now take it outside.

Ha, i am winning! I wanted to dig more but my ribs are sore so i have been putting it off. Got some mulch today for the flowers. Walmart is definitely winding down their garden center.

Somehow that came out screwed up. But just the last part is mine.

Don't get me started! My cat and boarder collie's hair mated and mutated into DNA tumble weed balls rolling around the hardwood floors! My a/c filters look like incubators hatching cats!
:barnie

CONGRATULATION GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Processed 5 cockerels. (7 more to go, plus an old biddy) Buried the feathers and guts under some soil in the sheet composting "garden to be", covered that with cardboard, covered that with about 12" of sheet compost (leaves and grass clippings) covered that with some hardware cloth, covered that with about 5 bags of leaves. In the process of relocating those bags of leaves, I found 3 huge garter snakes. :love It's so good to see a return of my lovely snakes. I saw a smaller one last week. Someone has been busy!!
