What did you do in the garden today?

I had decent luck freezing them. Treated them like bananas, mashing with a little lemon juice to prevent browning, freezing in ice cube trays, then storing the cubes in zip or food saver vac bags. Then I could use them in ice cream, baked goods, sauces for pound cake or pancakes/waffles/French toast. Or for pawpaw doughnuts!
I am not sure i like them yet, LOL.

I try to keep up with this thread every night while waiting for the sandman. All your gardens all are so wonderful! My season has come to the edge of the end. Not much to share anymore. :(

Today I have started a jumbo pot of Chilli. I usually make my own sauce but this time I bought a 7 lb can at the scratch n dent store for only a buck!
Cut up some bell peppers from my plants the dog have been ruining and my last onion of the season.
Canned diced toms and hot peppers for a little kick .(1/2can) don't want it too hot!
Last but not least, the last 2 lbs of our grounded cowey. (Thank you cowey).
Got it in the oval crockpot stewing. Smells good anyway. I never tried this brand of sauce before so I am waiting awhile to let it all come together before I add salt or anything.

It is currently raining outside with super bright sunshine!
Gotta go back out to the rain forest I suppose.

The only paw paw I know is this..
I've never tasted a paw-paw in my life.

FOR HOT DAYS!.......

This is a recipe for paw paw soup.
Take a 5 gallon bucket, scrub it out spotless!
Fill it up with fresh well water. Ours is consistently 72° year round from our aqua fur.
Fill it up to the rim.
Place it in a shady location and wait
.

Add one paw, then the other paw.
Depending on how dry your yard is or wet, will determine the thickness of your paw paw soup.

I sometimes make several batches a day.
It is a desired taste to say the least.
And that is how Chomper helps me make paw paw soup!

Today i have been painting inside the coop. Three walls done so far.
Then the rest of the electric fence will go up. Going to put my brooder in there for extra security. DH fell off my little plastic stool i sit on to weed the garden. He was pounding in the ground rods. He will be bruised. I fell on a sheet of roofing metal when i was getting off the ladder yesterday. I see a trend here.
Husband is out there chopping up old dead fall wood near the new storage building. The second one is on the way here.
