Yes and as long as the fences hold it is a peaceful sight. Keeps me checking the garden gate every night. Then there’s the ticks they bring in. They do like to eat the spent grain I spill.

Sad about ticks. Like rose thorns but more troublesome and unhealthy.

Very true, I’d let the chickens free range more to eat the ticks but, too many critters here like chicken.

Watered the compost pile this morning and we have steam which means heat which means it's working now
The pile has broken down some but it's manageable this size so might start a second pile with more mesquite limbs and coop litter.
Let the littles out in the yard this morning. Very disappointed that 2/4 are roos.

Isn't 2 of 4 exactly 50% which is about right? I get it though, everyone wants pullets. Hugs.

No , how are they ever going to find any bugs that close to the coop? Plus there is lots of cover with these trees. And my Shepherd chases off varmints.

Pouring rain here so against my better judgement because I don't like to do anything on Sundays. I have several pots of foraged wild mushroom soup going from mushrooms gathered through out the year, along with other odds and ends.
