What did you do in the garden today?

Last time my dog got into the trash, she had a bowel obstruction that cost a very expensive vet visit: X-rays, SC bolus of 500 cc of IV fluid, and a week's worth of probiotics. She's 2 1/2 years old now, and we're just now leaving her out of the crate (after dog proofing the whole house) when we leave her alone during the day.

we have the luxury of a laundry room our three house dogs go there when we leave

It's just been to nasty out to do anything. I finally bought myself a chainsaw. I have just been planting seeds inside and starting to really get planning for spring. Between the garden and building a rabbit area a pond for the Ducks and now a catfish area I'm in over my head and am enjoying the winter and herbal tea almost dreading good weather.:barnie:eek:

We now have warmer weather no rain in the forecast actually out in tennis shoes

Our two old dogs stay outside.
They have old couch cushions for their bed when it's to cold they get a heat lamp over their bed in the back of the shed.
They keep the coyotes, Fox and all the other critters off our place.
Except squirrel's I wish they would run them all off too.
My Papillon loves chasing squirrels! Not many around here.Which surprised me because there are lots of nut trees.

Hi all!
We had some rainy, windy and warmish weather this weekend, so I started a fair amount of seeds and took some cuttings of rosemary and peppermint.

Seeds: Amish paste, Atomic Grape and Black Krim tomatoes; yellow, red, orange, purple and black sweet bell peppers, Corno di Toro and Marconi peppers; habanero, buena mulata, scotch bonnet, and Thai bird's eye hot peppers; Swiss chard (bright lights), broccoli, tatsoi, bok choi, thyme, summer savory, purple, Genovese and thai basil; borage, dill, fennel and a tray of mixed seeds for sprouts (broccoli, cress, arugula, spinach, peas).

In the garden, the chives, garlic chives and green onions are still going strong. I have a few bulb onions and a few garlic plants left. The asparagus hasn't started yet, which is somewhat concerning; it's usually a couple of inches at least by now.

I don't know if I mentioned this, but I'm also planning to make part of my shed into a bigger coop this spring. It has an open area that I plan to enclose and predator-proof. I've never built anything big before, so I'm excited and a bit intimidated, as well.
