Mine are the same way with tomatoes. By week 2 of my throwing cherry tomatoes over the fence they give me the stink eye. "NO MORE 'maters or hornworms." "We can't eat one more, nope, not one more!" "I'll go broody if you make me eat one more tomato"
Congrats on the computer. These are all really good websites. My favorite is the Old Farmers Almanac you mentioned. I've been using their planting guides for years. I have also signed up to get planting tips and I get some really awesome and very useful information for raising vegetables. They also have an easy to use crop rotation chart that finally made sense to me. Back to the computer: I make my garden layouts in excel. In addition to keeping track of annual crop yields. It's a great tool for even "not really that organized" people like me.So, I finally have a new computer! I've been stealing my partners for so long I keep trying to log into mine with his info... Oops. XD It's a beast of a thing, super strong, runs like a dream. All my games work great which is exciting. Plus it's more than enough for my farming needs... A spreadsheet here, a .png file there. It's super nice to have. The keyboard is the best part... It lights up underneath which makes it easier to see the keys to type and the keys are very "click"y and springy, very responsive. All nice things. The keyboard feels so nice that it almost makes me wanna relearn how to type properly.
So now I have picked out all my varieties of veg for the year, and where I'm ordering what from... So it's time to start looking at companion planting charts for the year and decide what my rotation for the year looks like. Then I'll cross reference what I need with what I have already and then place my finalized order in a week or two.
For curious people here's some of the charts I use. I also do a websearch on each plant type on their own to see if there are any discrepancies because in-depth articles on individual kinds of veg tend to be more precise than compiled lists.
