Penny, it's the same everywhere.
I don't drive, but we get feet of snow each year. D and I went out in a recent snowstorm, drove on unplowed streets with 3-4 inches of wet snow in a heavy four-door sedan, no streetlights on those roads, made it out 45 minutes to
TSC (took us 1hr), had dinner together at Wendy's (we have a routine for that trip), then went home with 400lbs of animal feed in the car. Snow or sun the animals have to eat. The snow was so thick the only way you knew there was a car 20' away was from it's lights. It was a moderately scary drive, but take it careful and slow and you're fine. Up here if you can't drive in the snow you're just begging for an accident and we passed about 3 on our trip. But even in unfavorable conditions a good driver can just take it slow, give other drivers a lot of room, and you can get around just fine.
I always wonder how people who drive can live in Ohio for years, live with our snow and ice for years, and STILL forget how to drive on the first big snowfall every year.
Right now it's something like 60*F outside. We came out the other end of -5F to sunshine and heat today. It's only for today though. By the weekend we will be back down to 30. Still, it's a nice respite. One I need to take advantage of so I can clean up some animal pens and clear some weeds out of the garden beds for spring! Maybe, juuuust maybe, I'll even get to turn my compost pile.
