What did you do in the garden today?

BF is looking for crocus bulbs not finding them here that is a pain but did figure out with the Son's help the new cavatelli maker made goey blobs the first time key is right amount of flour in the dough View attachment 1717929 View attachment 1717930
Did you use AP flour or semolina? Semolina seems to work best for shaped and extruded pasta. Your cavatelli does look pretty good.

I didn't get as much done yesterday as I had hoped. The contractor that was supposed to come next week showed up before my scheduled contractor did. I had quite a few men running and working around the house and on the roof. At least next week will be quieter. I did manage to get my fig tree back on it's dolly so I could roll it outside. I also got three of my garden beds covered in plastic to warm up the soil. I still have large patches of mini glaciers scattered around the yard. My spinach and poblano peppers starts are finally sprouting. Yay!

Checked the cell trays this morning. The beet roots are heading for soil, so yay. I have pinks, poppies, lettuce, and a mystery half flat coming up. WHEN OH WHEN will someone come up with a garden marker that will actually STAY on the plat markers and not bleed, fade, wash off? Grrrrr. I will work backwards and see if I can figure out what on earth is in that half flat. So annoying.

Cold and rainy with snow on the way. Going to putter around the workshop today and get little things done. I hope.

I gave up on markers too. I use small colored zip ties shoved down in and a notebook of what color or set of colors is what plant.

I bought plastic plant tabs from Amazon. They're small but they're ok. I noticed that my lavender and chives are starting to break through the dirt. Today it is warmer, but 46F and damp with scattered showers is not exactly tee shirt weather. At least I don't have to shovel. @WthrLady, I hope that snow you are getting melts right away.

I use sharpie permanent marker on cheap white tabs, can buy them in bulk at the local hardware store, failing that, use sharpie on old plastic notebook dividers or anything plastic, cut to whatever size you want. No fade.

I use sharpie too on burpee plastic for markers and stick in ground works well. My DH yesterday took several trips to the Home Depot before he got the construction grade sand medium grit for the chick run after mucking it out over the winter and added two drains to keep run dry. We will see if this keeps water out.:fl:fl:fl:)

My Daffodils are up after a couple 60 degree days and Hyacinths are soon to follow.

I moved the baby quail outside to the garden yesterday. They seem to enjoy the extra space to run around. The bigs were curious.

Other pics are my plants in my office at home. The fern is a recent addition. I was thinking about trying in the garden outside but decided on the office instead.
