Waving from the insanity that is Nebraska in April.

The tomato seedlings are setting second leaves.
The milkweed is all coming up nicely.

I'm shocked at the low germination rates from some of my see companies. And the jiffy seed pods are all but useless. On Friday, I'm tossing them and then replanting the flat with cells.

I've never had good luck with them either. I just get the little seed starter trays and use bag starter mix. That works really well. My Meyer lemon tree is blooming right now. I'm not sue if I want it to produce a lemon right now. I googled it and everything I found said that a small dwarf tree can support the fruit. So maybe just one. I would like it to get bigger before it does very much on the fruiting. Does anyone else have experience with these?

How old is your tree? We let ours grow fruit when it was ready and our yields are better every year.

Hello,

I just finished talking with my landlord. He gave me permission to do a garden. However, I am limited to a 12 foot by 18 foot space due to the size of my backyard. Hence, I am limited to four 4 foot by 4 foot boxes, and 1 4 foot by 8 foot box.

So, I'm planning out my vegetable garden. I'm planning on doing cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, and corn in the big box.

I'm planning on building the boxes sometime this week or the next week. I'm going to be using the Terra Preta soil I mentioned earlier.

Jared
