What did you do in the garden today?

Roofers are almost done. Omg the mess.

When my husband and I were newly married and poor, the first house we bought (that was supposed to have a new roof) leaked after 2 months. My husband is in construction, and decided we were going to roof it ourselves, since the insurance would only cover enough to buy the supplies. Never again! He did a great job, as I pretty much just laid out shingles and fetched supplies, but it was such a mess during that time. It took us weeks!

I had OSHA inspectors show up when the team manager was not around and none of the workers could speak English. Of course they spoke Portuguese so work stopped until we got an interpreter to show up to tell them they were getting fined for not wearing their safety belts. That was quite a day.

I told the owner when I contracted him the only Spanish I know is from Dora The Explorer. So unless there is a Map and a sneaky FOX issue (hey I have that one) and some kind of adventure, then I can't ask or answer questions.

Power came on late last night! Yay!

We do not have a generator but are now planning to buy one, since this is the fourth time the power has gone off for more than 4 hours in the two years we have lived here.

I told the owner when I contracted him the only Spanish I know is from Dora The Explorer. So unless there is a Map and a sneaky FOX issue (hey I have that one) and some kind of adventure, then I can't ask or answer questions.

I’ve taken French, Spanish, and German. Picked up a little Italian but Portuguese is not anything I can comprehend. So of course the work crew only spoke that. I’m sure the new owners of my old house are still finding bits of old roofing. That house was built in 1890 so you can only imagine what the strange bits are. LOL!

It’s good to know you are OK. I bought a generator after Hurricane Sandy and haven’t had a power failure since. My current house has a transfer switch and I still have my to date unused generator. I look at it as insurance.

OK, so I'm out doing evening chores and out of the corner of my eye I see movement way out in the hayfield. THe fox is running across the corner, spots me and lays down. She's stalking me again. I went to a blind spot, raced into the house and grabbed the rifle and snuck back down the other way again, so she couldn't see me go in and out. I sat for 15 min to see if she's come out to the trap or coop, but didn't.

So the web cams are on and I'm waiting for her to decide to come out again. She came by 3 times last night.

OMG I left the garden irrigation on. Back later. LOL

Ya, our rates are LOW! I've asked our neighbors what they pay. I'm doing well. Major National Military based insurer. Been with them 30 years. I'm not going anywhere.

That was my Great Grandmother. My moms dads mother. My daughter reminds me of her quite a bit and I like old pictures.
