What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. Well yesterday was a total washout. It rained all day, but the garden loved it. Dry today then rain again tomorrow. I didn't see any sign of slugs in the garden this morning so I'm guessing the eggshells are working. Nothing much else going on. Have a great day everyone.

Bill paying day. YUCK>

Fox didn't show up at the game camera, but it's mulberry season and I found 3 pooper piles full of berries around the barn, so she's going for a berry week as long as they're around to eat.

But those pointy teeth of her are going to start craving squirrel soon.

Finished the grass mulch last night. Now it's just maintaining and weeding..hoping for something to make it to harvest.

Corn is up. I cannot believe how FAST it came up!

Good morning gardeners. Yesterday was nice, comfortably warm with a breeze and no rain. Was able to let the chickens out to play in the grass. The littles actually hung in there with the big girls most of the entire hour. This morning I checked the garden and the only slugs I found were munching down on a single marigold plant that had no egg shells around it. Everything is seeming to be doing well. The little carrots I planted in with the leeks are starting to break through the dirt. I planted chard seeds where the spinach had been. One row of peas is full of blooms so the peas should be emerging soon. Rain is forecasted for later this morning into the overnight so will be starting to paint the ceiling in the sun room. Have a great day everyone!

Rain. And more rain. Buckets of it this morning. We get to look forward to another round of soaking rain tomorrow night/Thursday. Then again on Sat and Sunday.

So. Tired. Of. The. Rain.

Where’s the warmth?? It’s June!!

However, in the garden, my plants are in raised beds and looking OK (not great, just ok). Many also have large blooms of fungal issues. I wonder why? Couldn’t be the record breaking rains that keep saturating the area, could it?

We have some peas that are just not blooming...it’s weird. Definitely not too hot and not too dry. But the other kind of peas also planted in same bed are blooming.

another 4 inches heading our way between tonight and Sunday night. :he going to top dress the tomato plants so at least they'll get fed.
We’re forecasted for an additional 2 inches of rain between now and Friday. I need to put some neem oil on the apple trees but it will just get washed away. If my raised beds weren’t on a bit of a hill I believe they would be drowning. My oregano finally started growing and the lavender seeds I planted are showing a little growth finally. The sun is supposed to come out on Friday afternoon. Hopefully it will come out sooner for those who are west of me.

It's not raining yet, so when I just went out to get the mail I sprayed some neem oil / fungicide on the fruit trees. My little Empire apple tree had 5 tiny apples on it. I picked off 3 and will see how these go. I'm trying to paint the ceiling in the sunroom but it's slow going in this humidity. Ugh!

I'm scheduled to spray the orchard again next monday morning. A week in the high 80s /and 90s and no rain! Maybe they'll install the new gutters too.
