Well lot's of chicken food 3 layer 1 grower and one more oyster for the yard

Checked the garden yesterday. Had to actually wade through 2-6” water to get to them. The ground is so saturated here that the moderate rain we had for about 1.5 hours had no place to go, other than to flow into farm field. But there are some low spots in our yard and the slope isn’t much from the back area to the field, so the flow of water is only moderate at best. And the farm field is saturated too.

But, wet ground makes weeding pretty easy, so I spent some time weeding. Found a baby slug too. Picked turnips. One pea type is flowering and producing some pods. However, the other two types are producing nothing at all, just normal growth -not a single flower on those two types.

Some tomato plants have baby green tomatoes starting, but not all. Cukes and melon plants (started from seed in the raised beds) are not doing much growing - they are waiting for warmth it seems.

We need rain here..... Not been very warm either. 60's most days a few 70's. Tonight a low of 42. Plants just are hanging on.
But not thriving.
Corn and beans are coming up though.
But we really need a little rain and warm weather..... Some humidity.
But that's Michigan Upper Peninsula.
The lakes and rivers here are doing great but where I live we got 300" of snow this winter.

No gardening today. We drove to Utah for my birthday. Ate some yummie Chinese Food. Went looking at fifth wheels. Went to Home Depot and ended up walking out! I loaded 32 boards and pushed the cart to the register I had grab the wrong ones (price) the sale ones were in a bay up high that required a fork lift. I walked all the way back to the lumber section to double check and found the ones I wanted and got back in line.
I asked the cashier if someone could help me-
she said “now?”
The clerk was so RUDE!! She said so whatcha’ gonna do just leave them there?
(at the register)
Said “Yep sure am.”
I turned to my hubby and said let’s go. He started to ask for the manager. I said “Let her explain to her manager what happened.”
No matter how bad I needed the lumber I didn’t need it that bad. A nice customer (behind us in line) offered to help.
Things just aren’t that important...
And we had a wonderful day.

Good morning gardeners. Happy Birthday @MissChick@dee. It finally stopped raining early afternoon yesterday. Everything looked fine when I did my morning stroll. I took a few pictures of peas forming, broccoli head getting a little bigger and pole beans starting to climb. Although, my pole beans are starting to look a little yellow. I think it's from all the rain but will investigate anyway. Need to do some shopping today, groceries and more plastic mesh fencing to expand the chickens playing yard. I'll try to start working on the mowing again. It appears we have 3 dry, warm days ahead. Woo Hoo! Have a great day everyone.

Good morning gardeners. Happy Birthday @MissChick@dee. It finally stopped raining early afternoon yesterday. Everything looked fine when I did my morning stroll. @Wee Farmer Sarah - plants are looking nice! hopefully the pole beans perk up!

As for me - the weather has warmed up, the sun is shining. Some rain in the forecast for tomorrow, then it looks like nice days! Today I did spray some liquid sevin - hate to use, but we are seeing certain bugs. Hoping that I can get away with very few applications. Also, hoping that the deep freeze this winter really impacted the bug population, and so far it seems like less than last year, but not sure if that is due to the low temps and rain, or the deep freeze of this past winter.

Those peas that have been growing and not flowering? Well, they are flowering! A nice red/burgandy with pink flowers! Too bad my spouse had started to rip some out and feed to the chickens...but it was only a few plants that were sacrificed. Now we know not to be so impatient!

Bought 3 sets of cushions that should fit one of my yard swings have two of them old enough they need new cushions both of them but they are old enough they are made of metal not so light but both quite heavy
