What did you do in the garden today?

My kids and baby granddaughter are coming on Friday. I keep hoping the flowers will all still be in bloom, but the lupines have just about had it, and the daisies will be dwindling. The vegetable garden looks fantastic but there’s nothing to eat yet!

I feel for those of you in the heat. We had sun and heat today but the breeze keeps blowing through the cooler woods to my yard. I was out all day. Yay, retirement!

Garden pix and one of the chickies in a big group dust-bath-turned- 7DC439FA-23BC-4BC1-9A91-CCFA44FCE821.jpeg nap!

Well, the flowers won’t load. Bummer.

It's late, but I think I foubd what's wrong with my beans. Phosphorus deficiency, will top dress with bone meal and feed some worm casing tea. Oh yum.

Found a double peach hibiscus at a local farmers market. It needed to come home with me.

Borer and what it does to the inside of your stems. The orange ball is Its butt curled under it. The goo is what's left of the inside of the stem.

I had more but the internet said nope.

Good morning gardeners. I changed my avatar. The "littles" have started this new thing when they are "free ranging" with the hens. If any of the hens chase them, they jump onto either my arm or the arm of the Adirondack chair I'm sitting in. This is the selfie from yesterday.

I picked more peas this morning. I'm giving two of the heads of romaine another day or two before I pick them. I have another broccoli crown developing so I will watch that carefully as the temps are going up for the next few days. My daylilies are blooming in the front yard so I picked some to bring inside. I have several jalapenos forming, so hopefully next week I'll have some ready for picking. I thinned the carrots a bit, but not much else to do except to watch everything grow. Have a great day everyone and stay cool and hydrated!

Heading out to plant the replacement tomatoes.

The ditch lilies are starting to bloom.

Wild prairie flowers are in bloom everywhere.

Very humid and hazy and 78 and 845 in the morning. Sultry for morning chores

Then off to the village to deliver eggs then home to do photos to get on etsy.
