What did you do in the garden today?

Had a slight injury today heading out to the garden. Was going to weed the rows of onions. Walked past our outside wood boiler with open toed rubber sandals and kinda tripped over a wood splinter from splitting wood by it. Hobbled back inside to ask DW to pull a splinter out of my foot, hey mommy I said, can you pull a sliver out of my foot?. She picked on me on her way out and then about freaked out, ... It was about a foot long and turned out to be 3/4 a inch drove into between my big toe and the next about a little smaller than a pencil, left a hole . I thought it was worse than it was, wasn't a big deal. She pulled out a little meat digging with tweezers getting a piece that broke off. Didn't bleed much, been eating kale omelets about every day high in vitamin K.
Crazy, never would have thought that could ever happen lol :lau
Luckily I'm on last day of work first day of vacation so hopefully healed up before back to work lol.
OMGosh!
Keep an eye on it.
Wood is nasty. :(
That just sounds awful.
:hugs

Oh how exciting! What for??
I hope you get feeling better soon.
Don’t play with all that infection. Seriously, perhaps a trip to the doctor could help your recovery. I have chronic problems and antibiotics are helpful. I’m not a huge fan of Steroids either but sometimes I get too run down and then it’s a hot mess.
Oh, I'm properly antibiotically, drugged up. :D But I'd rather be a bump on a log when I get plague like this, I just couldn't this time.

I'm a competitive sport pistol shooter. .22, 9mm, Revolvers, and Olympic Rapid Fire (which I didn't do this year due to a schedule conflict) and Swiss Pistol Qualifications

My catalogues have blossoms. If I remember right the seeds I had were for 6” or palm size melons.
So I decided to make a grass planter/hawk hideout out of the pallets I disassembled. I have no cover for the chickens along that fence. I need to fill it w/soil & tweak a few things. The wire lid can be removed.
I’m always so careful with nails & screws & when I cut wire.
I was sitting in my chair with my feet atop a board and I was pulling nails. Keeping them in my left hand until I could stand up and put them in my pocket.
My RSL “Chia” was laying under my chair. She waited until the perfect time and ... Wham! Snagged a nail right out of my fist! I chased her in hopes she’d drop it. We stopped she looked at me and ate it. :hit:barnie:hit

Awsome! :wee

I also did not get to the garden today other than to walk by it with my 2 year old granddaughter and show her & name what is growing. She keeps calling the tomatoes "apples". :lau
Then we went to the park to celebrate my daughter's boyfriend's son 2nd birthday. Stopped and picked up my Mom as well. ( She will be 84 on Monday!)
