Good morning gardeners. Sounds like everyone has been quite busy. I may have mentioned this before @penny1960, I was in the grocery store around the corner a week ago and noticed their sorry looking Brussel sprouts. Your sprouts are infinitely more appealing. Thank you @WthrLady for shedding some light on something that has had me confused for a while. The whole short bedspread thing. I thought mine was just shrinking and that's why I can't cover the pillows without shorting the end of the bed. I put a folded quilt at the foot of the bed to cover that shortage up. Oh well, back to gardening. Slim pickings in the garden this morning, however I should have some nice green beans in a day or two. Not really enough to freeze so I may venture to a farmer's market to find some locally grown. The leeks are still looking good and growing ever so slowly and the few butternut squash are ripening. I'm debating whether to can or freeze the currently ripe tomatoes. I used a few in the soup I made last night and they were not overly ripe. I really don't like to use the canner for fewer than 4 jars because of the amount of water necessary so freezing might be a better option. Happy canning all and have a great day.

Nope. The world has switched over to European duvets and comforters and covers. Although in the US we still use sheet sets too i dont care for the messy look of them.

I bought my bed spread at Bed, Bath & Beyond around four years ago. It was supposed to fit a full/queen sized bed. I have a full sized and it barely covers it. I considered the duvets and comforters however I prefer layers instead. Sheets, blankets, bedspread and quilt in Winter. That way I can adjust the layers according to the coolness of the room. My bedroom is usually the coolest room in the house in the Winter. I sleep better that way.

I don't buy the cover unless I can see the measurement on the package.

I've learned they'll take pictures of a king duvet on full sized bed OR king on a king, but pull it all to one side to make it look longer and wider than it really is. The part out of sight of the camera, is naked!

I find them for a good price at Tuesday Morning as well. Peacock Alley and LaMaison are my favorites.

picked 4-5 gallons of tomatoes . Blanching them now . Some rain overnight early morning . More coming later .

We had a torrential downpour most of the night and morning. It finally quite around 11 AM. Probably too wet out there for me to get much done outside today.
Does anyone know if it usually takes apple jelly longer to set than other flavors? Don't know if I just need to open all the apple jellies and just cook them longer or just let them be.

nope it doesn't. In fact, it's nice and naturally high in pectin, so sometimes it's faster and thicker.

I buy king sizes comforters, spreads or duvets for my queen. Its redic.

Froze more tomatoes, picked cukes & carrots to make some bread later.

Came home from the store to a loose chicken! All she wanted to do was get back in with the others, lol.

Nope, I checked the recipe 3 x's. Also at my friend's house we used a different recipe and her's didn't seem like it was going to set up either. I think I will open mine back up and cook them more. I was surprised that we were supposed to add pectin because I know apples are high in pectin. But, I did add it like the recipe said too.
Was just out showing my friend my garden and saw that something has torn up part of the siding on the garage! Probably an animal. It's up near the curve in the rain gutters.
