Good morning gardeners. Yesterday was indeed chilly, but sunny. I managed to tough out 30 minutes of hanging with my chickens then had to get inside to warm up. Today I woke up to a light dusting of snow. I definitely missed that weather memo. It's supposed to be in mid 40's today and 50's tomorrow. Will try to get the new garden bed framed out later this afternoon. As far as selling eggs, I come close to breaking even on my flock. My friend who lives near Boston doesn't complain about the price, actually that's what he offered to pay. Fresh "home grown" eggs are not cheap in the Boston metro area. I deliver to him only because it's on my way on a regular trip. I'm still looking for another customer or two so I can get a better price for the eggs I currently sell to the folks at the feed store. I didn't get into chickens to start a business. I like fresh eggs. Getting a little money to help offset the cost of my hobby is sweet. My little prepper "gene" is getting agitated with this corona virus thing. I'm nearly stocked up on grocery items to keep me for two months or more. I'm picking up another bag of chicken feed today so I have them taken care of for another two months. I feel like I'm fortunate that I'm retired and can stay home anyway if necessary. But you younger folks have to go out to your day jobs. Thank you for the pictures @TropicalBabies. That was a hibiscus, right? Have a great day everyone and stay healthy.
