What did you do in the garden today?

A bad photo because I got home after 9pm today and it was dark out, but I thought you might enjoy a pic of some of our crocus that are in bloom in our front flower bed.

such a feeling of joy those first flowers of spring bring! My forsythia, daffodils, and hyacinth are all in bloom right now and the scent from all those hyacinth is heavenly! If I didn't have so much garden work to do, I would sit on the deck for hours just enjoying.

It tested PH of 7 even, i know i have to lower it so i added the chicken poo an mixed it around im gonna get them as bushes, just other than chicken poo i wasnt sure what else i could add to lower it an have it not be to acidic by the time i plant them im hoping to have them in may June if i can get the soil right
Coffee grounds and peat moss are a couple of natural says to acidity your soil. I grow my blueberries in large pots and just toss my old coffee grounds on top of the soil every so often.

Good afternoon gardeners. We've had thunderstorms rolling through since last night. I checked the rain gauge when I locked up the chickens, we had 2" in 2 days and probably at least another inch since last night. I managed to see into the centers of the artichokes and they're blooming :weeThey're taller than me, I'm 5'. The dill and basil are still tiny, no ginger yet. I threw out some grass seed in some thin areas in the dog yard yesterday. With all the rain we've had and more anticipated I figured it's a good time. We're having fresh, homegrown carrots with dinner and I'm waiting for the kid to get here with his truck so we can get the block, wood and CW for the full sun garden. We spent the day with our granddaughter, she helped me tie dye a sheet, we went shopping and had lunch. She's playing with the boys atm, it's been a long time since they've seen each other so they're getting along quite well. We order our dog food from Chewy, but we still don't have shipping confirmation. We're beginning to wonder if covid19 is going to impact delivery services. Not FedEx so far, I have 2 pairs of shoes on the way and tracking shows they'll be here tomorrow. Wow, sorry for the novel! Have a great evening all.

I'm not certain I'll get much done outside this weekend or next. It's going to be cold this weekend and then wet next weekend.

Today I planted 200 onions, 50 garlic, 1 new blueberry bush, 1 rhubarb, and tons of radish seed. Fruit trees are all pruned, sprayed, fertilized, and budded out. I've been hardening off seedlings for planting on the new moon, And I am so ready for spring! The chickens are not allowed out of their run during planting time. They would scratch up everything as fast as I plant it, they love to help. Isn't that a terrible way to repay those girls for all that compost they provided to ensure a good harvest? Lol

Your all makin me jealous on seed startin !! Not quite time here yet😑 but thats great for u all. Day off today but daddy daycaring it, on the bright side its 50°F out partly cloudy an nice a windy!! Helpin dry that ground up a little once i tidy up some domestic duties (laundry) I think ill draw up a pre garden map/plan if the littles allow it. Anyone have any tips or pointers on soil prep for blueberrie bushes so far i have the holes dug an mixed up with chicken poo...
I read to mix in saw dust to help get the PH that blueberries like.

Part of my Stark Brother's order arrived today! 2 Elderberry trees and 2 types of pear trees.
Low's tonight forecast for 33, high tomorrow 40. Low next Saturday should be 30. I'm thinking I should wait a bit before I plant them out. What do you think?
It's already 9PM here and I am only up to page 1978, but I need to get to bed. I'll have to try to catch up tomorrow when I get home. :lau
