What did you do in the garden today?

I got out in the garden for a little while today. I managed to get one of the compost piles moved across the yard to the new composting site and built a wall to enclose the first bin. I'm hoping to get the next two piles moved and walls built so I can finally be done with the compost. Then I need to start moving the raised beds. We are expecting rain a few days this week, so I'm not certain I'll get much more done. I'm just taking it one day at a time.

I haven't started my seeds yet. I wanted to start them last weekend. I really need to get them going ASAP. I'll have to make that a priority tomorrow evening when I'm done with work.

Aloha gang!
The wild weather woke me up all through the night, finally got up at 430am, though not totally unusual for me to get up that early. Internet was out but electric was good. Waialeale registered @ 21" for 24hrs. we were hit pretty hard here on the west side of the island, a few cat 1 ill tempered dust devils spun up down the road and we have had flooding up the wazoo. Was supposed to continue on like that for another day or two with the Kona low spinning off to our West but all is calm now. Should pull away buy Thursday. I personally love it. So glad we did not ease into summer w/o more rain.

It also made it super easy to hunker down at home. I made a good homemade soup- some to freeze- a cake, a spaghetti and a big salad. Caught up with my son through the window and daughters via text.

Have a great day all!

Yay! Sunshine today! Got tons of compost dug into the beds, and played with the chickens in the yard. Thank goodness I still have blueberries in the freezer, think my girls like those more than meal worms!
this corona virus stuff is scary. Who would ever imagine shutting down so much of the country for a cold/flu virus. I'm lucky, I don't have to go to town for anything for months at a time. (Except for coffee, omg I'm almost out of coffee!) But how are the people who have to work for a living supposed to survive? There are millions of people who still have mortgages/rent, car payments, have to actually buy from stores for food, etc. How are these folks handling it?
Read some news, it's not horrible but it ain't good.

2 days of rain so I get a rest from outside work . I am diabetic and a family history of diabetes . Had a low sugar episode last night . 40 lowest I ever had . It fooled me as my levels did not drop from the work as usual . So I took my normal amount of insulin all day . Laid down early because I was wore out . Woke up sweating and blurred vision . Ate sweets and skipped my bedtime insulin . I am 68 and been diabetic since 2012 .

Good morning gardeners. We're supposed to get rain today. I haven't watered since the last rain and I heard we could potentially get another inch before this storm is done. I'm not complaining, this one will bring more snow to the high country. That kills me, high country. When you grow up with real mountains that dominate the skyline, the "mountains" here are just foothills. Still, we're getting snow so that's good. Good grief, the news :sick Have a great day everyone
