What did you do in the garden today?

Here is few pics of min, i wanna go bigger so i can add an have room for a small orchard of fruit trees an bee hives in the future..... its gonna be a lifetime project. Hahaha:D But my goal is to have the veggie garden, berry bushes, fruit trees an bee hives in one big fenced in area. Me an the wifey have 4 kiddos an i want it to be something they can enjoy growing up around it an remember later in there life an bring there kiddos to come an enjoy. This is all hypothetical considering our oldest is 9 hahaha but as for right now the oldest two enjoy it so far.View attachment 2060877View attachment 2060878
looks great!
Why not just plant the orchard tree just outside the fence on the north end and place the bees there too?
I specify northend for the trees so they don't shade your garden. I have a massive maple about 20ft south of my garden and it casts a shadow over the entire garden at high noon in the summer. We work around it successfully. I'm tempted to cut it down but it's the only option for a tree house for the kids in the future.

@WthrLady so happy to hear that not all of the dead bees were dead!! :wee:wee:thumbsup
I think I have decided on a new place to plant the cherry bushes that will get to be 6 to 8 ft tall. The only down side to this new location is that I believe there is a lot of mole activity there. Or possible armadillo ( based on previous chats last Summer or Fall?)
Jefferson County, Missouri went under a Shelter in Place order as of 12:01AM. So at least 8 counties in Missouri are under such an order that I know of.
Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Your fenced in garden area looks soooo nice compared to mine. :lau Mine is functional, but not aesthetic.

I guess i never really thought of going in that direction with it i jist automatically rulled it out cus i stoped my lawn mowing just past my fence on that side an my neighbor cuts hay off there but i could go in that direction an let the other side grow to hay for him an its future possible pasture. But now u got me thinkin :clap:confused:

Well, I had plans to plant more of the strawberry roots and to move the cherry bushes, but when I went outside I discovered that it is cold and raining! 😞
That did not stop me from butchering one of the spare roosters ( much to his disappointment, I'm sure). Tomorrow is supposed to be 64 and sunny but not until I'm supposed to head into work. 🙃 Oh well, maybe they won't need me to come in. It is my overtime shift.

Edited to add: Also found out that my niece's girlfriend is presumed positive for covid-19. She is a medical student in New York. Several of her classmates have tested positive. They will okay a test for her but she has to drive herself there and they don't have a car. They either walk or take public transportation. She isn't about to take public transportation to go get tested!!
There is a hospital within walking distance if she gets bad ( she actually worked there during med school). She graduates this year. They told her they expect it to be a mild case for her. :fl
